The game of mini golf can be a lot of fun, but it can also seem overwhelming at first. We will break down everything that you need to know about mini golf so that your experience is both enjoyable and educational. Don’t worry though, this is not for experts with years of experience. Mini golf is actually much easier than you think. You don’t need to feel intimidated, I can almost guarantee that after playing for ten minutes, you’ll start learning and enjoying it, and after the first session, you’ll want to make this an ongoing fun day that you can do with your friends or family on a weekly or monthly basis.

Let’s now discuss what Mini Gold actually is.

Mini Golf is a game where players take turns trying to put small balls through holes in as few strokes as possible on specially designed courses with obstacles such as sand traps, water hazards, and rough patches of grass. The player who finishes putting all their balls first wins.

The best way to prepare for mini golf though is at least knowing all the rules. For this reason, we’ve compiled a list of 10 rules that you should know. Here are 10 rules of playing mini-golf:

1. Mini golf courses are made up of 18 holes with the shortest being around 50 feet and the longest being close to 400 feet. The player whose ball is farthest away from the hole will go first followed by back-to-back turns until all players have gotten a turn. If your ball lands on someone else’s you forfeit the stroke and go again. Use this to your advantage.

2. The first shot should be taken from behind the tee position. So keep an eye on your friends and family that try to cheat!

3. You are allowed to move any part of your body or club when you take your shot, but you cannot touch anything else on the course during your swing. Some courses have special areas designated as ‘out-of-bounds’. If this is the case it will be marked on the map. Make sure to avoid these areas.

4. When putting, you cannot cross over anything on the course, if it appears that your ball will hit an obstacle you are not allowed to take your shot.

5. The player whose ball is farthest away from the hole will go first followed by back-to-back turns until all players have gotten a turn. If your ball lands on someone else’s you forfeit the stroke and go again. Again, use this to your advantage.

6. The player who sinks the ball the fewest number of shots wins each hole and is awarded points towards their total score (usually one point for every shot it takes them to get a hole-in-one). You must be at least 12 years old to play a full round of mini golf, but some courses offer a shortened 9-hole course for players under 12. So make sure to check the website for more information before planning an event there. Most courses in The United Kingdom though, allow kids of all ages to go and have fun there!

7. When you finish your last hole you add up the total number of shots it took you to complete the entire course and compare it with other players in your group. If two or more people tie they must play another hole to decide the winner. This will happen sometimes.

8. Each player is allowed to use one mulligan per game, meaning they can take back a bad shot and try again without losing a stroke. Keep this in mind.

9. If you play on a course that has water hazards or sand traps, it’s best to stay clear of these areas as each contains potential hazards and penalties that you may have to pay on your turn.

10. If a player causes damage for any reason they must reimburse the course owner as well as take responsibility for any damages caused. This rule is common sense. Make sure to behave when on someone else’s property.

Mini golf is a great way to spend time with friends, family or coworkers. You can play in teams of two for competition and fun! There are many rules that must be followed when playing mini golf. Be sure you know these before heading out on the course.
