The Ace is an excellent daily phone as well as a good gaming phone. Oppo Reno Ace USA outperforms the competition when it comes to benchmarks. AnTuTu and 3DMark stood out the highest, with scores of 478,768 and 6,092, respectively. By a large margin, these statistics outperform the competitors.

Design:

Oppo Reno Ace Gundam edition was able to preserve the phone’s front screen at almost 100 per cent. A huge slit for the earpiece is barely visible between the notch and the metal frame. The bezels on the chin and sides are likewise incredibly thin.

The phone comes with a built-in screen protector, and the edges are easy to feel with your thumb.

On the other hand, the phone’s softened side edges and curved rear glass make it comfortable to hold in your palm.

About two-thirds of the way up the left side are separate volume buttons. It’s impossible to tell up from down by feel since the gap between them is so little.

A power button is located on the right side, opposite the volume keys. I like how the button has a little green accent that helps it visually stand out.

Above the power button is the twin SIM card slot. Unfortunately, no memory card support is available.

Display:

Similarly, considering the large number of games released in HD format, gaming phones tend to remain with Full HD or Full HD+ resolutions. As a result, the screen on the Oppo Reno Ace USA is almost twice as tall as it is broad.

Reno Ace excels with brightness, which is the last consideration. According to Oppo, the phone has an average brightness of 700 nits and peaks of 1,000 nits.

On our equipment, Ace’s peak brightness was 481 nits, which is higher than most flagship phones tested by Android Authority.

In conclusion, Ace’s screen is bright and contrasty, but it falls short of Oppo’s claims.

It’s a straightforward panel with crisp lettering, excellent video quality, and colourful but not oversaturated colours. The bulk of people who buy the Ace will be interested in the screen.

I can’t say the same with the fingerprint scanner built into the display. It took a long time to register a print, and the results were inconsistent at best.

Battery:

Oppo Reno Ace Gundam edition achieved this by separating the charge and discharge circuits inside the two portions of the battery.

This minimises resistance within the battery and shortens the charge channel, resulting in a 2x increase in charging speed.

Furthermore, Oppo can maintain the Reno Ace charging at a fast pace even when the battery capacity is down to 10% when typical chargers and batteries slow down to a trickle charge rate.

However, In our tests, the phone took 32 minutes to get from 0% to 100%, which is close enough to Oppo’s guarantee for me.

In the end, you won’t have to be concerned about battery life. You may get hours of uptime in minutes with a phone that charges at a rate of 25% in only 5 minutes.

Software:

Color OS 6.1 is a non-Play Store skin that is based on Android 9 Pie. To put it another way, you won’t be able to access the Google Play Store or Google apps straight soon.

The OS’s functionality remains unaffected. Most Android phones provide you with all of the usual UI choices.

That means you can customise the home screen to include or exclude an app drawer, arrange applications into folders, add widgets to the home screen, and fill the left-most home screen panel with your chosen feed.

Final Verdict:

Oppo Reno Ace USA is a great product from Oppo. It’s a beautiful piece of gear that shines in several ways.

The build quality is fantastic, the 90Hz screen is bright and fluid, the Snapdragon 855 Plus is fast, and the battery life is excellent. Although, The Ace is uniquely positioned as a modest phone for gaming, with the fastest-charging battery we’ve ever seen.

The Oppo Reno Ace is a versatile workhorse that deserves your attention.
