Union Public Service Commission conducts the CAPF exam for the recruitment of suitable candidates for the post of Assitant Commandant (AC) in the Central Armed Police Forces. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) come under the category of Central Armed Police Forces. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the exam by filling out the application form. The examination is conducted once a year in offline mode. There are multiple phases of the examination such as the Written Test, /Medical Test/Physical Test, Personality Test, and Final Selection.
Prior to filling out the application form, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates must fulfill the conditions such as Nationality, Physical Eligibility, Educational Qualification, and Age Limit. Only candidates who are citizens of India are eligible to apply for this exam. Candidates should be in between 20 years and 25 years of age. However, the reserved category candidates are eligible for the age relaxation. Both male and female candidates can apply for this exam the minimum height and weight male should be 165 cm and 50 kg respectively. On the other hand, the minimum required height for female is 157 cm and the weight should not be less than 46 kg.
There are two papers in the examination wherein paper 1 is objective in nature and paper 2 is descriptive in nature. The questions in paper 1 are based on the General Ability & Intelligence wherein a total of 125 questions are asked for 250 marks. Candidates are provided with 120 minutes of time to answer the questions given in paper 1. On the other hand, in paper 2, a total of 6 questions pertaining to General Studies, Essay & Comprehension are asked for 200 marks and they are required to write the answer in 180 minutes.
Key Details about NDA Exam
Like CAPF, the NDA exam is also conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. It is conducted to employ suitable candidates for the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for the exam by filling out the application. The exam is organized in two phases in a year wherein candidates have to appear in Written Test and Interview. After qualifying the examination, candidates are appointed as Cadets or Officer Trainees.
The eligibility criteria to apply for the examination are candidates should be a pass in Class 12 from a recognized board. Further for Indian Navy and Indian Air Force, candidates should have passed Physics and Mathematics in Class 12. Only unmarried candidates whose age is between 16.5 and 19.5 years are eligible. Male candidates should also meet the prescribed criteria for height which is 155 cm for the candidates belonging to the Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Minicoy Islands, and Ladakh Region; 152 cm for the candidates of Bhutan, Sikkim, North East Region, Gorkhas, Nepali, Assamese, Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Uttarakhand.
In the exam, the Mathematics section consists of total 120 questions for a total of 300 marks and the General Aptitude test section consists of 150 questions for a total of 600 marks. After the written test, the shortlisted candidates are called to appear in the SSB interview which is conducted for a total of 900 marks consisting of 50 questions.
