In the beginning, only Nvidia’s RTX 4070 graphics card became controversial because of the controversy. As the consumers found themselves duped by the announcement of the launch of RTX 4080, without any product launch of RTX 4070 Ti. Additionally, the experts found that the RTX 4080 is just the larger 12Gb VRam version of the 4070 graphics card. Therefore Nvidia officials have to relaunch RTX 4070 Ti having the 12Gb version of RTX 4080 inside with a slight tweak of the pre-decided name.
One more thing Nvidia did is lower the price of the 4070 Ti graphics card by $100 from the announced price of $900 on its retailed product. Though enthusiastic gamers found that the graphics card wasn’t available at that price and it doesn’t justify its price tag with its performance. Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti details
In comparison to the elder sibling RTX 4080, the RTX 4070 has 21% lesser cuda cores and 4GB GDDR6X memory. While on the tensor side, it has 21% lesser ratings on ray tracing cores. With an observable performance dip from the 4080 Ti it has lowered power usage about 285 watts. If we compare the 4070 Ti with the RTX 4090 Ti there is a wattage difference of 165 watts. Though with the latest architecture 4070Ti draws lesser power consumption than previous versions of graphics cards. The overall memory of this graphics card uses 12GB DDR6X memory to take out peak performance using 192-bit bus memory interface.
Pricing –
The retail price of RTX 4070 Ti is $799, which is $200 cheaper than its predecessor RTX 3070Ti. If we start with positives, we found out in our RTX 4070 Ti review that it offers consistent performance in our testing. It is definitely faster than its predecessor RTX 4070 Ti. if we compare it with the older generation GPU, we can see a significant jump in the performance, especially playing games in 4K and Ultra settings. The frame rates are not dropping like the older versions at the max settings and uninterrupted performance is delivered, but it was playable trying on multiple games.
The 4070Ti offers a large vapour chamber keeping the temperature in control with a wider heat sink build. With additional features such as overclocking button and three 1.4 display ports with one HDMI 2.1 port, it offers practicality. This allows you to play 4K and 8K games at 240Hz and 60Hz respectively.
1440p Benchmarks :
As the RTX 4070 Ti supports G-sync tech we tested the 1440p performance on the latest 13th gen i9 processor on a higher refresh rate monitor that goes up to 240Hz. we compared RTX 4070Ti with its AMD’s rival which is RX 7900 XT on multiple AAA gaming titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon 5, Grand theft auto, Red Dead Redemption 2, Forza, etc. All the AAA titles are tested at max settings to do a stress test on the GPU.
We found in our Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti 1440p performance that all of these gaming titles are playable and delivered more than 100fps in our review. Additionally, this card supports games up to 144Hz so you can feel the game performing buttery smooth.
It easily outperforms the RTX 380 at an impressive margin of 20% and justifies its performance at $799.
We got more than 200fps at 1440p resolution for games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Shadow of Tomb Raider. While its AMD rival 7900 XT remains ahead with price-to-performance ratio with games such as Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077.
4k Benchmarks :
In our 4k testing, the RTX 4070 Ti lags behind its competitors and delivers lower performance even at higher frame rates.
Expect Microsoft Flight simulator, and almost all of the major gaming titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Metro Exodus, the witcher, etc though it lags behind the RTX 4080 Ti by almost 20% at 4k ultra settings. In our testing, we got only 51fps on Cyberpunk 2077 at 4k while the Radeon 7900 XT easily managed to sustain 60fps on the same resolution.
Ray Tracing & DLSS :
In Cyberpunk 2077, at 1080p keeping DLSS 3 on we got fair 88fps with active psycho ray tracing. The DLSS 3 also pushed double frame rates at 4k ultra settings and reached 60fps on the Microsoft fight simulator game. On the flip side, we encountered a sudden dip in frame rates while playing Counter Strike Global Offensive at both 4k and 1440p resolution.
We checked the Counter-strike performance we encountered playable performance at 4k ultra and 1080p settings. Similar to RTX 4080 this 4070Ti is also able to produce convincing DLSS performance. In other words, the DLSS performance is improved and delivers a realistic feel to gamers. In order to experience we recommend you use the 4k monitors to take full advantage of this graphics card.
Conclusion:
The RTX 4070 Ti is without any doubt a potent card that can handle 4k gaming pretty well. But, we will recommend Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti in our review only when it is available under $799.
It easily beats the popular RTX 3080 which was launched at $699. RTX 4070 Ti delivers 20% more performance than 3080. If you want a better GPU than RTX 4070 Ti then you can go for AMD Radeon RX 7900 Xt or XTX cars. Instead of going for an RTX 4080 retailing at $1,200. It’s because of the AMD, Nvidia is encountering dipped sales with highly competitively priced GPU with attractive features. As days are passing by the GPUs are getting costlier so we recommend you to wait for sales and get RTX 4070 Ti at a discounted price. Though it is rare to find the RTX 4070 Ti at $799, as with huge demand for all GPU, this card is retailing at $839 on MSI and PNY official websites.
