Mark Grayson’s Darker Path

Season 3 centers a lot on Mark Grayson (Invincible) as he figures out what to do at the end of Season 2. Coming off the emotional stress of his father’s betrayal and the chaos he’s left in his wake, Mark has more difficulties, personal and heroic. His new blue and black costume, which signifies the turmoil of his soul and his more pessimistic view on life, is one of the biggest shifts this season.

Due to that, Mark has been forced to re-evaluate his priorities, as his relationship with Amber is over. He also suffers from guilt over the murder of Angstrom Levy, a murder which has those ramifications. At the end of each battle and moral dilemma, Mark gets ever closer to becoming more like his father, Omni-Man, which only scares him more.

The Rise of Kid Omni-Man

Oliver Grayson, Mark’s half-brother, is also in the top flight this season. Kid Omni-Man, Oliver, starts learning what it means to be a hero and growing his powers now. The presence of Mark and his having a presence adds dynamic to Mark’s story and their relationship is tested by different philosophies and responsibilities.

Omni-Man and Allen’s Escape Plan

Meanwhile, Omni-Man is left imprisoned as a looming figure. Both he and Allen the Alien work together to develop an escape plan that could surely upset the balance of power in the universe. Mark is still under the heavy influence of Omni-Man, so the question is, will Mark be able to get out of his father’s path, or will he follow his father’s footsteps and repeat his mistakes?
