Karrigan is captain there, and he has been criticized for his poor individual level of play and will continue to be so for the rest of his career. But Karrigan doesn’t need to change, because at Faze, everything works. And with Ropz’s arrival, the firepower has increased significantly, which was obviously lacking in the lineup with Olof. And for the Estonian, the move to Faze is a huge improvement. Now he can play to his full potential on a team with an experienced captain and great teammates.

But you shouldn’t praise Faze too much either.

First, NAVI at the end of last year and NAVI now are two different teams. There is no way to know how Karrigan would have handled S1mple and Electronic in prime form. Second, not all of the top teams in the Pro League have shown their real skill level. Think of G2, Heroic, and the Players. Of course, that doesn’t diminish the credit for Faze. Third, too little time has passed to declare Faze the new kings of CS or, worse, to proclaim their era. Two tournaments is a good start, but it’s still not an indicator.

The Major in Antwerp, which starts on May 9, will definitely give an indication of the team’s real strength. By the way, since reaching the finals of the 2018 Eleague Major, the club has not been doing well at Valve tournaments: two quarterfinals and two failures to qualify from the group.
