In the international platform, guns are considered to be a political matter for Americans. Why do you ask? The thing is that America is a place where shooting sports is quite popular. Those who like shooting sports also like to carry them around and opt to take this constitutional right into their hands.

Like any other market, the gun market is driven by the new technologies, designs, and new addons that redefine guns. Gun holster is one of the important parts of the gun that always has something new to cater to.

How Is Technology Defining The Defense Industry In 2021?

Despite guns being a common occurrence on the streets of America, we still see some of the major accidents due to mishandling the guns. In fact, it is a common scenario in America.

This led to a discussion where people are really concerned about the safety clip of the guns. Just think for a moment; you have a gun in your home for safety measures. Unfortunately, your son finds it. If the gun is loaded, it can be disastrous for everyone.

Misfiring or mishandling of the firearm caused second-most death in 2016. This shows how dire the situation is. Gun manufacturers are trying their best to make guns that are safe to use and can restrict misfiring death accidents.

1. Techno Polymers

The major issue of the current firearms is how heavy they are. If the firearms can be made lighter, they will hold a tactical advantage over the enemies. With that in mind, manufacturers are experimenting with different elements to create a lighter element for the guns.

The solution they have come up with is Polymers. Polymers are able to bind different types of ceramic and nanoparticles to attain a state where they can be used to make the body part of the guns.

With the polymers, manufacturers were able to find a solution to omit the use of metal to make barrels and use polymers to distribute firing shock evenly to the whole gun.

2. 3D Printing

You must have heard or seen what 3D printing is all about. Although 3D printing is perfect for making models and conceptual design, the ability does not stop here. Depending on the material, the 3D printer is capable of recreating firearms in thin air.

In fact, there is a company that is already experimenting with this concept. Solid Concept is a Texas-based company that has proved that firearms can easily be printed and put together.

In the recent experiment, the company used an industrial-based model to print a weapon from scratch. They sought to prove that 3D printing machines can create firearms that are equally accurate and powerful. And they have certainly proved them.

3. Modular Designs

Personalization is a concept that is used in the marketing of all types. And the firearms industry has found a way to capitalize on this trend in its own way by offering people modular-based guns.

In fact, accessories like a gun belt and a gun holster are being personalized as per the gun owner’s demands. The personalization of firearms means there will be supportive elements along with the firearms.

For instance, if you are purchasing even a pistol, you will have the option to equip your pistol with changeable optics, flashlights, and lasers.

Take Away

As the gun industry advances in technology, manufacturers are pushing themselves to create more comfortable and precise weapons. Not only that, these weapons are lighter, collapsible, and modular.

We can see how the new era of firearms has started adopting new trends in the industry. Although the firearm industry has constantly improved itself, it continues to get even better with modern-day technology.

In this article, we have listed down the top technological trends influencing the gun industry to a greater extent.
