How to Breathe New Life to Your Hotel’s Waterpark

How TO

Many hotels, particularly those in hot places like Florida, have their own waterpark. Even if the extent of your “waterpark” is a slide into your largest pool, it still counts. The only issue with these water features, of course, is their maintenance. You can absolutely grab the attention of budget travelers who would prefer to use your pool rather than pay extra to go to one of the big waterparks, but not if the pool itself isn’t enough of a draw.

Your pool and water features need to look new. They can’t be old, ratty, or falling apart. If they are, then people are just going to look elsewhere. Like every aspect of your hotel, there will, eventually, come a time when you’ll need to give your waterpark a facelift. If that time has come, then you can use this guide to help you get started:

Signs Your Waterpark or Pool Needs a Face Lift

Inspect your pool. It needs a facelift if it looks old, broken, or like it’s seen many better days. If your pool attendance has dropped significantly even though your hotel room bookings haven’t, you will likely need to refresh it. This is particularly important if you require a hotel fee for guests to use your pool and waterpark. It doesn’t matter how much extra it is – as soon as people need to pay more on top of their room to gain access, they’re going to judge its value and worth. If that value doesn’t add up, then they just won’t go.

First Level Renovation: Resurfacing

At a minimum, you’ll need to resurface your pool every few years. This can mean redoing the flooring in the pool so it’s smoother, cleaner, and brighter. It may mean replacing any broken tiles or even leveling the patio area so that everything sits flat and comfortable once again. Don’t forget your furniture, either. Upgrading the loungers and sun parasols so that they are new, stylish, and comfortable can all go a long way to giving your pool a facelift, on a budget.

The Big Overhaul

If you want to make your hotel a hot spot again, then add a big draw – like a stunning, insta-worthy pool. Your waterpark or pool doesn’t need to be big to draw people in. It just needs to be stylish. Go with a theme. Make your pool a striking green oasis using various green tiles, plants, and even décor pieces to stand out.

When committing to such a redesign, know you’ll need a three-pronged approach. One, to fix your existing design, two, to upgrade it, and three, to remodel it. The commercial pool resurfacing and renovations must be handled by tried and tested professionals.

The rest is up to you, like the decorations, planters, and even the playlist. You can use generative image tools to help inspire you or hire an interior designer to help create a stunning pool and waterpark that is sure to be on every social media profile before you know it.
