Popular YouTube gamer Lex Iwan recently raised over $300,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As part of his regular video game streams, Iwan collected substantial funds for the landmark children’s hospital. 

St. Jude will use the funds to improve the lives of children diagnosed with cancer and other rare illnesses.

Lex Iwan runs a successful YouTube channel titled “Mr. TLexify.” He regularly plays first-person shooter games featuring zombies and has recorded dozens of live streams showing off his gameplay. 

Iwan has amassed an enormous YouTube following, which now amounts to more than 1.52 million subscribers. Iwan makes a point to share his faith in Jesus Christ in his content. In fact, Iwan’s channel trailer reveals that his motivation for philanthropy lies in his devotion to being a Christian. 

In a recent video stream with his sister, Iwan confirmed that 100% of his donations go directly to the charities he supports. Each year, Iwan raises thousands of dollars for non-profit organizations, relief funds, and social justice campaigns. 

What Will the Donation Contribute To?

St.Jude Research Hospital is devoted to helping children struggling with a wide range of illnesses. In a recent stream, Iwan confirmed that a significant portion of his proceeds would contribute to helping children with Type 1 Diabetes. 

Type 1 Diabetes is a disease diagnosed from birth. It’s an auto-immune disease that causes the pancreas to produce little-to-no insulin. The exact cause of Type 1 Diabetes is unknown. It’s activated in children when their cells start to attract the pancreas. 

More than 200,000 children throughout the United States have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). St. Jude receives regular donations to break new ground in raising awareness for Type 1 Diabetes and helping children and their parents mitigate the disease.

St. Jude Children’s Hospital is a pediatric research and treatment hospital founded by Danny Thomas. With its main headquarters located in Memphis, TN, the hospital serves children up to the age of 25.
