Finding an AdWords consultant or AdWords management company that is the right fit for your company is not always easy. There are so many factors to consider, and just because the consultant or company worked well for someone else, does not mean that may be the best fit for you. Therefore, as you go about selecting an AdWords consulting service; whether from a company or a consultant, there are a few preliminary things you need to find out before contracting them. Here’s a brief guide on the key questions to consider posing to your ideal candidates before hiring them.

Do You Have Experience Working For My Particular Industry?

This is a very important question to ask you candidates since it will give you a lot of insight on just how well versed the adwords consultant is with your industry. A keen knowledge of your industry dynamics will save you a lot of time and money, since there will be less time spent, and more resources put to actionable areas. There are a lot of demographic data that can’t easily be analyzed by digital tools and only someone who understand the industry and customer behavior within that industry can be able to draw the right insights from them.

How Flexible Are You To Iterate The Campaign Once It’s Underway?

AdWords consultants don’t always get it right the first time. Even if the AdWords management service is top notch, there is still some risk that the first campaign trajectory may be the wrong one. Therefore, it’s normal to change tactics and iterate to a different campaign model even in the middle of the initial campaign. Some AdWords management companies may not like this, and would rather enter a new contract that work within the confines of the previous one. Therefore, finding someone who can change and pivot to a new, working idea is ideal if your campaign is to limit risks of failure.

Do You have Eligible Portfolios to View?

Evaluating the AdWords consultant’s portfolio is important since it will give you an idea of what to expect once they start working on your campaign. Some AdWords management companies are known for their particular style and this can be seen from their portfolios. Some styles may not agree with your company’s vision or even ethos and it’s okay to communicate this early so that there is no confusion arising later. However, don’t expect to be shown portfolios featuring your competitors or other companies since the AdWords consultant will likely be refrained from showing them.

Where Do You Rate Yourself as a Google AdWords Consultant?

This question may sound odd, but it can actually give you a good idea whether the candidate understand their position as an external consultant and weigh their skills against those of your in-house team. Expert AdWords consultants will likely answer this question by stating the ad campaigns they worked on successfully and some who are honest may go as far as stating the ones that didn’t work out and why.
