Sea of Thieves is a pirate-themed game where players and their crew members go looking for hidden chests across troubled waters. But that’s not all, there’s so much to the game than just looking for treasures. You and your crew will come in contact with several enemy pirate ships that will be looking to attack you and steal your loot.

You will also need to contend with the sea and its troubles including a dangerous sea animal that topples ships. All these make the game so interesting and challenging for even experienced players.

If you want to be the ultimate pirate, overpowering other ships, sailing the waters, and discovering treasures, you would need to understand a few things about the game, things lots of players neglect. These things can give you an edge when playing the game.

Now, before I show you these tricks and tips that can help you play Sea of Thieves better, you must understand that they might take some time getting used to which will mean having to make do with a couple of losses and deaths at the initial stage before you get the hang of it.

However, if you want to jump the curve and immediately set yourself up for success, one of the surest bets is using Sea of Thieves hacks. These hacks will give you massive advantages even against experienced players.

Here are 5 of my go-to tips for Sea of Thieves:

  1. Birds can Signal Goodies

When in the sea, it might be so difficult to see past a certain distance with the horizon and all. Birds are the signal that can help you here. If you see birds hovering around a particular place, it means goodies are lying around there.

Oftentimes, a shipwreck just occurred or a ship just sunk. Either way, there is something to loot. The downside is if you’re seeing the bird, so is any other pirate ship that is close by.

Go in, take your loot and get out as fast as possible as you will be sitting ducks if another ship sails by.

  1. Communication is Powerful

As a pirate, you’re not alone. You have your crew members to help you and also other pirates in the game. Because of the number of characters in the game, communication is huge if you want to progress further and have a chance at completing your mission.

There is the option of communicating through voice commands. You will need to get a headset and microphone to use this well. You can also use preset messages to communicate with crew members and even members of other ships.

Communication can work both ways, enemy pirates close enough can eavesdrop on your conversation, so you need to be careful not to share critical information if you feel someone may be listening. You can also use this to your advantage by sneaking up close to other pirates to listen to their conversations.

  1. Don’t Linger with Your Treasure

Depending on your mission, when you find treasures, you might be tempted to keep looking for more. This is quite dangerous as pirates love to attack and steal from each other.

Quickly hide your treasures and return to an outpost so you can sell them off. That’s the only way to complete a mission. Finding the treasure is not the end of the game. Taking it to an outpost and turning it in will complete the mission. Do not be caught unawares and lose your treasures.

  1. Stay away From the Edges of the Map

The earth is flat in Sea of Thieves and you don’t want to be found at the edge of the map as you’ll fall off and die; you, your crew, and everything you’ve gathered.

Stay off the edges as the curious ones may not be fast enough to turn their ships when they get to the edge of the map. There’s hardly anything of note around the edges, so you aren’t missing out on a lot of fun or loots.

  1. Know How to Use Your Cannon Balls

The cannon is arguably the most important weapon to have in Sea of Thieves as you’ll be doing a lot of fighting with other pirate ships. The cannonball is strong enough to cause significant damage to an enemy ship and can even sink the ship.

You will need to know how and where to fire for maximum damage. Focus the cannonball below the ship, just above the water level. Creating a hole here will force water into the ship and cause it to sink if not patched up quickly.

Summary

Sea of Thieves is tough on beginners as there are no tutorials or second chances, just death. This guide and the tricks in it will help you navigate the waters better and become an even dangerous pirate.
