Being at home all day can take a toll on your physical and mental health. And this is now more true than ever gyms are shut down, parks are closed, and any other way for people to go out and maintain their health is most probably not available.  But don’t let these obstacles pull your active spirits downs.

But the question remains how to do that? To help you in this process I have curated a personal list of fitness apps that can be your first step to fitness.

If you are already keeping up your health with yoga, meditation, or any other workout routines. These apps can still help you organize your routine.

Top 10 Fitness apps you should try right now

1. Cure fit Healthy Food, Fitness, Yoga, Meditation

Cure fit is on top of the list because that is the position this app deserves. During this whole pandemic, cure fit has quickly changed its working to suit people’s needs. It was hit earlier too with its meal plans and gyms all over the big city. But with changes in its buying plans and providing tons of fitness content for free, it has gained even more popularity. Curefit’s feature includes live and exclusive workout and yoga classes you can do at home, real-time performance tracking, remote services of personal trainers, nutritionists, and diet planners. You can also enjoy guided meditation sessions via videos, stories, etc. Its branch eat fit also has recipes and other content that you can use. I have used to eat fit before pandemic for ordering healthy food that tastes delicious. Curefit is available on both android and ios.

Home Workout takes pride in its ability to help users achieve their workout goals with the wall of their home without splurging money on expensive gym equipment. If that sounds like something you want to try then here are some other features that the app possesses: Warm-up routines, training progress tracker, chart-based weight tracking, workout reminders, and amazing video tutorials to help you follow the routine you set. You can also get and personal trainer and share your progress with friends and family. Home Workout is available for both android and ios users.

Daily yoga is one of the most prestigious yoga apps you can find online and this can be clearly seen in its popularity and download metrics. The app is ideal for beginners and experts alike. The app has quite a versatile range of options for you to choose from including asanas, yoga programs, guided yoga sessions, pilates, meditation sessions. For a small payment, you can get a personalized yoga plan planned by an expert yoga guru through the app. Along with these the app tracks your progress and connects you with others in the yoga community. 4. MyFitnessPal Calorie Counter

Google Play store rating – 4.5

It is important to have a physical routine but a healthy diet also plays a significant role in maintaining a healthy body. And it might shock you but 80% of Indians have a carbohydrate-heavy diet and proteins are often lacking from that diet. MyFitnessPal calorie counter helps you in eating a balanced diet so you don’t eat more than the calories you burn. The app has about 11+ million food items in its database. If you still find that something you like to eat is missing then add it yourself using the apps barcode scanner or even add a whole recipe. Other cool features of the app include tracking goals, food insights, and exercise log

5. Headspace

Google Play store rating – 3.8

We live in a world of constant input and most of us lead stressful lives that can lead to depression and anxiety. But we are also always glued to our phone but why not use it and the amazing technology to get some peace and calm and that is where headspace comes in. Headspace is a personal favorite app that I have been using for the better half of a year. I stumbled upon it when I had trouble sleeping and looking for an app with some calming sleep music or sleep meditation. Headspace had that along with its many other features. Its move mode has quick workouts, monthly fitness courses, and audio based cardio to get that blood pumping. It also has a The Wake-Up feature that lets you start your day with a calming video series to help you keep positive throughout the day. FYI there is some free content but a lot of content comes with in-app purchases. But the free content is also worth a try.

6. Sleep Cycle

Google Play store rating – 4.4

I know they call it beauty sleep but it is as important for you to mind as it is for your beauty. Sleep Cycle helps you better your sleeping patterns by monitoring your sleeping habits and REM cycle. I am not saying this is the cure for insomnia but if you have trouble sleeping than the Sleep cycle is definitely worth a try.

In the free version, users get to experience sleep analysis using the app’s patented sound technology also called the accelerometer. The apps also track long time sleep trends. I used it for a couple of days and found it quite interesting.

Now that we have talked about fitness and health. We forgot to mention one more thing that can spruce up your mood, talking to your friends and family. And if done in your own language then the whole conversation can get even better. But no one calls as much as they used to. So I use this Marathi Keyboard app that understands my intent in Marathi when I am talking to aai, baba, and dada at home.
