Attracting customers is a measure to disseminate the appeal of the services and products you provide and to provoke behavior among prospective customers who are interested.

In order to lead to the purchase of products and services, it is necessary to appeal to them and to attract their interest through marketing campaigns that you’ll run. In other words, if you strictly define attracting customers, you can also rephrase it as “attracting customers”.

Since the next action taken by customers who are attracted by attracting customers is to purchase, it can be said that “attracting customers = creating an environment where purchasing behavior is likely to occur.”

The types of customers targeted for attracting customers are mainly divided into the following five types. We will introduce each feature.

New customer

A new customer is a customer who has never purchased a product from your company before and who has made a purchase for the first time. The purpose of approaching new customers to attract customers is to gain a deeper understanding of the appeal of the company’s brand and products, to have them become attached to the company, and to acquire repeaters (making them VIP customers). If you can get them to buy your products on a regular basis, it will lead to stable sales.

Prospective customer

A prospect is a customer who has not yet purchased your product, but who is aware of it and has at least some interest in it. It is necessary to have an approach that makes people think “I definitely want to use this product” in order to get them to make a purchase from the stage of considering a purchase and to move to new customers.

Potential customer

A potential customer is a customer who is not yet aware of the existence of your company’s products or services, but who has a need (may become a prospective customer) if they do.

If you only follow actual customers, the market will eventually dry up, so it can be said that it is important to use well-known brand marketing tools that will help in discovering potential customers and acquiring new prospective customers to continue your business.

Dormant customer

Dormant customers are customers who have purchased your company’s products or services in the past but have not purchased in the long term, or customers who considered purchasing once but did not.

Even if interest in your company’s products and services was low at the time you stopped purchasing, the situation may have changed, so you can expect conversion to prospective customers by approaching them again.

VIP customer

VIP customers are customers who make repeat purchases of your product or service. VIP customers, who are indispensable for securing stable sales, can be said to be the most important existence in business.

We will continue to attract customers with the aim of improving customer satisfaction so that they will continue to purchase our products and services in the future.

As a business owner, you need to classify your customer target based on their needs and expectations. If you fail to determine the classification of your customers, your marketing campaign might fail.
